Every now and again I work on covers for my stories…just because. It’s another creative outlet. It doesn’t mean that’s what the covers will be for them. Not at all. It’s just a bit of fun. And of course, any publisher of my work will do their own covers.
But having some fun is good for the soul, isn’t it?
This is a cover for a story I’ve been working on for a while. It’s not a fantasy story, more a historical fiction account featuring two young gay men who are in love but have to deal with the prejudice and the law during the 1940’s in Australia. They grow up together and fall deeper and deeper in love with each passing year, but society has other ideas about what should happen to those who are gay, and love has nothing to do with it.
Hereward is my hero, my love, my everything, and now I’ve decided to do a cover for his story (which is under submission with publishers and agents right now). Here’s hoping I will one day see something even more spectacular than what I’ve created here. I had an absolute ball writing Hereward (book three is being written as I type this).
And of course, you’ve all seen this one before (it’s on the Magician’s Familiar page of this website). It’s a story I’m still working on – in edits right now – and will hopefully see publication sooner rather than later. Time will tell. Here’s to hoping, hey!
That’s if for today.
